Pierre Gandon

PIERRE GANDON (French / 1899-1990)
Pierre Gandon studied under Fernand Cormon at the Beaux-Arts, Paris. He won the 2nd Prix de Rome in 1922, ande Prix de la Ville de Paris in 1935. Pierre Gandon exhibited at the Salon de la Société des Artistes Français from 1923. Born at Hay-les-Roses (Val-de-Marne), Gandon became very well-known as a printmaker, and is particularly renowned as a designer of postage stamps.
